About Us
A Moment of Respite
in the Cévenne Mountains
Are you looking for an opportunity to reconnect… to nature, to yourself, to others? Look no further! A stay at La Goose will allow you to take full advantage of the natural backdrop that is the Cévenne mountains, spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors. How better to “recharge your batteries” than to re-connect with the natural world in the quiet of the French countryside.
Our property consists of more than 7 acres of fruit trees and forest, including a walking path to well-positioned benches and secluded hammocks. Weather permitting, all meals are served outside under the grapevine-covered pergola, and walking and cycling paths abound. Finally, in the heat of the summer, you can soak in our pool,
or better still… stroll down to the river for an all-natural dip!
Ingredients for our in-house meals are plucked (whenever possible) from our personal vegetable garden; our chickens will both keep you company in the yard, and nourish you (via their eggs). Finally, partner with one of our donkeys for a picnic walk or hike : she’ll carry the bags so you can better enjoy the scenery.
Come and share in the
quiet splendour of the Cévennes.
We look forward to sharing
our home and town with you!

Location & Nearby Attractions
The areas surrounding our town teem with hidden gems, whether you’re traveling solo or with children, looking for a culinary experience, an athletic endeavour, or a natural adventure. If you’ve never visited this part of the world before, definitely peruse the suggestions below!
Restaurants
A 10-minute drive from the house, L’Auberge Cigaloise offers high quality service at a moderate price. Take advantage!
Slightly further afield (40-minute drive), Le Jardin aux Sources offers a highly personalized gastronomic experience that doesn’t disappoint.
Sight Seeing
A 10-minute drive from the house, The Silk Musem offers an overview of the silk economy, which dominated the Cévennes for many years.
Visit the beautiful limestome caves called Les Grottes Desmoiselles — a 20-minute drive from the house.
Active Adventure
Looking for a day of climbing and adventure ? Les Accros d’Anjeau — a 1hr drive from the house — offer a web of ziplines and treetop climbing (all fully secure, of course) for all levels of ability.
Biking
If you’re an avid cyclist, this is the region for you! Just this year, a new portion of the many « voies vertes » (green belts) that abound was finished and inaugurated, allowing for a seamless more than 13km ride from St Hippolyte du Fort to Quissac.
Hiking
While there seem to be fewer GR trails in the immediate vicinity of Cros, there are nonetheless many beautiful trails that intermingle, leading all the way up to St Roman de la Cadière. Ask us for ideas as to where to go exploring!
Day Trips
It’s a brief 30-minute drive to Anduze, a lovely tourist town with attractions such as the steam train (which you can ride up to visit St Jean du Gard) or the beautiful Bambouseraie, where you can walk and picnic in the cool shade of bamboo.
